General Bunkering Services is a shipping offi ce and ship operator. It centres on chartering tankers and transporting mineral oils. Its speciality is bunkering. Thanks to the proper experience and know-how, you can leave these activities to GBS in all confi dence!
Working with well trained staff and giving plenty of attention to safety and the environment are top priorities. On average GBS has 10 ships sailing on the instructions of the oil companies and various independent oil traders. Besides these a variety of individual ships are chartered. GBS inland tankers are exceptionally well suited, as you can see, to bunkering and are also suitable for normal transport on inland waterways.
Over the last few years GBS has invested considerably in modernisation and expansion. All ships are equipped with a thermal boiler and a modern bunkering derrick and are provided with the latest technical gismos.
True to tradition all GBS’ ships are named after composers. After the purchase of the four ships in 1998, the mts. Beethoven was bought in 2003 – the first example of a new generation of double hull type C tankers that GBS has ordered, varying in size from 1600t to 3200t.
Another five new examples will be going into service shortly. The ‘Paganini’ and the new ‘Vivaldi’ will be the first to float; they will be operating in spring 2009. The ‘Puccini’, ‘Rossini’ and the new ‘Verdi’ follow in 2009/2010. The shipbuilder’s plans for even bigger ships are already on the table so that we can serve you even better in the future!
